What's new at Bajaj Auto (India)

The Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS Fi is India's hotest selling "naked" bike right now. Packed full of high tech goodies, the Pulsar 220 boasts many "firsts" for an Indian manufactured motorcycle, including Fuel Injection, 20 bhp and top speed over 80mph! For more pics and specs of the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS Fi, check out Motorcyclist at Large and Purionline.com.

Is there a market for a small displacement "naked" sportbike in the US? We think so.

On the scooter front, the latest news from Bajaj Auto (India) is the scheduled late 2006 release of the Bajaj Blade DTSI, a full sized scooter with large 12" alloy wheels, disc brakes and class-leading power rumored to be a 150cc engine.

We'd like to see both the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS Fi and a 150cc automatic Bajaj Blade make their way to US roadways.

For you old school scooterists, we still have the venerable Mack truck tough Bajaj Chetak in Charcoal Black, Quartz Silver and Misty Green Jade, in stock and available for delivery!

The Bajaj Chetak is named after a very famous horse in Indian folklore. Chetak saved his master from certain death by outrunning a pursuiing enemy army while severly wounded. "Chetak" has become synonymous with reliability and faithfulness. A noble steed indeed!

Thinking of You

We just got this postcard in the shop, "The rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated. -Love, Stella". Note the stamp, mailed direct from India (where the LML factory is). For more on the Stella and LML check out the scooterbbs posts.

We're keeping our fingers crossed! Let the speculation begin...

Meanwhile, we're anxiously awaiting our first shipment (they're in transit!) of the 49cc Genuine Buddy (pdf brochure). After the very successful debut of the 125cc Genuine Buddy, we expect the 49cc version to be excellent.

ID6: Independence Day 6 Scooter Rally!

ID6 Rally was a blast! Great fun was had by all, from the Friday night festivities, to the Saturday Scavenger Hunt Ride and long Saturday (60 miles +) ride and BBQ. The party continued Saturday night at the Tritone with Wang Newton, the Philly Roller Girls and the Midnight Raffle, and of course, the late night ride to the Art Museum. Sunday started with brunch and awards at Ava Restaurant, and culminating in the Buck's County ride to another delicious BBQ and a visit with Percival.

Kudos to all the members of the Philadelphia Scooter Scene who worked hard and ran a very well organized rally! Thanks for a great weekend of scootering. Can't wait til next year!
